Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Robotics and Automation society student chapter was inaugurated on Thursday at Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology (MJCET) here at Banjara Hills on Thursday. 

Hyderabad: Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Robotics and Automation society student chapter was inaugurated on Thursday at Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology (MJCET) here at Banjara Hills on Thursday.

Professor Anthony from Colorado State University (CSU), USA was invited as chief guest who spoke about Redundant Robot Arms which is a latest research area in the field of robotics. He also appreciated the projects demonstrated by the students like the 3D printer, Robotic Hand, Telepresence robot and cognitive robot. Dr Jim Cooley, Vice Provost CSU and Ms Lisa Pappas Associate Director were also present.

Director of MJCET Dr Basheer Ahmed said, “Our college is interested in starting a Robotics Research Centre to improve the skills of the students and is keen to collaborate with Anthony from Colorado State University in seeking his guidance for establishment of this research centre”. Head of ECE Department Dr Mohammed Arifuddin said, “The projects designed by students of MJCET use the latest technology and are very innovative”.
