Exemplary works of ‘puncture’ man

Yousufguda: “To serve the needy is my job,” says B Prakash, who owns a tyre puncture cum repair store at Yella Reddy Guda in Yousufguda. Prakash devoted his life towards serving the needy.

He repairs bad roads, controls the traffic, and distribute books to students who needs them all from his pocket. Prakash started his career 25 years ago and since then he spends almost seventy per cent of his income for social service, like helping students in government schools by providing books and pencils, distributing food to poor during festival. Moreover, he also fills the pot holes during rainy season, provides drinking water during summer and distribute blankets during winters.

Prakash said “You don’t need money to serve, all you need is a kind heart. I decided to serve citizens since the day I started earning, helping others makes me happy, he gleams. I provide air filling and repair services for free during the months of Ramzan and Bakrid. I am doing this for the past eight years. Everyone in this locality knows me and they respect me for what I do. Director Boyapati Srinu has appreciated my work, he also helped me in installing water camps in the area. Traffic police commissioner who lives nearby also donates money for the service I provide to clear the traffic”.

A resident of Yella Reddy Guda, Yadagiri said “Keeping his store aside, he devotedly works for hours to clear the traffic in this area. Prakash toils restlessly during the day by serving his customers and controls the traffic during the evening. Every day Yella Reddy Guda in Yousufguda is jam packed with traffic during peak hours and Prakash takes time out of his work to keep the traffic in control, he added.
