Moreover, Parigi and Kodangal will be upgraded to that of Nagar Panchayat status with Parigi having nine wards and Kodangal seven wards. Also there were proposals to expand the existing municipalities by merging the surrounding villages with them.

Issuing orders by the government declaring tribal thandas with a population of over 500 as panchayats is going to change the contours of the district. The merger exercise of villagers with the existing municipalities came to a head. The local authorities communicated the list of villagers that are going to be merged with the Tandur and Vikarabad.

A huge exercise to gather public opinion on merger of the villages with the two municipalities has been carried out. The villages of Burgupalli, Gudupalli, Dannaram, Girigitpalli, Kompalli, Madgulchittempalli are going to be merged with Vikarabad, while Saipur, Mallareddypalli, Kokat, antaram and Rasoolpura will be merged with the Tandur municipality stretching the limits of the two towns in all directions.
