The Pollution Control Board started digging at Tagore Chemicals and Venkateswara Chemicals in SVEV Venkateswara cooperative industrial estate, Jeedimatla on Wednesday. The PCB swung into action followed by a complaint that both the industries are allegedly polluting the nearby canal with chemical effluents through an underground pipeline. 

Sanatnagar: The Pollution Control Board started digging at Tagore Chemicals and Venkateswara Chemicals in SVEV Venkateswara cooperative industrial estate, Jeedimatla on Wednesday. The PCB swung into action followed by a complaint that both the industries are allegedly polluting the nearby canal with chemical effluents through an underground pipeline.

The PCB officials found the alleged pipeline and still continuing the digging to find if there are more. PCB Chief and Environmental Engineer, Joint Chief Environmental Engineer Ravinder Reddy, Senior Environmental Engineer Kripanad, RO Pathak supervised the operation. The secretary of state pollution control board P Satyanarayana Reddy visited the industries. Speaking on the occasion, he said that stringent action would be taken against the industries, who resort to such kind of acts.
