The Pollution Control Board officers on Thursday found out that two units of the SV Cooperative Society – Thakur Chemicals and Venkateswara Chemicals – failed to discharge their chemical affluents into the open nala through an underground pipeline instead of channelizing them into the effluent treatment plant. 

Jeedimetla: The Pollution Control Board officers on Thursday found out that two units of the SV Cooperative Society – Thakur Chemicals and Venkateswara Chemicals – failed to discharge their chemical affluents into the open nala through an underground pipeline instead of channelizing them into the effluent treatment plant.

The officials – environmental engineer Ravinder Reddy, SE Krupanand, Kumar Pathak – inspected various units thoroughly in the society digging with JCBs. The two companies have been discharging their affluents into the open nala through three underground pipelines. Ravinder Reddy said that a suitable action would be initiated against the two units after receipt of chemical laboratory report.
