Tandur: A large number of devotees from Karnataka, Maharashtra, besides districts of Mahbubnagar and Medak will witness the ‘Ratostavam’ of Basaveswara Swamy to be organised in the district as part of Sri Baniga Basaveswara Jatara on April 7.

Minister P Mahender Reddy will be the chief guest at the event which commences at 10 pm and continue till the early hours of Sunday. Interestingly the devotees would hit the top of the rath with bananas; if they hit the target it is believed that their wishes would be fulfilled.

Temple EO Srinivas Goud told The Hans India that all arrangements, including ‘annadanam’, are being made for the benefit of the devotees.

Elaborate security is being provide to avert any untoward incident, said DSP Ramachandrudu. For this purpose eight CIs, 33 SIs, 154 constables and 41 HCs are being deployed. Said CI Pratap 11 ASIs and two Armed Reserve force teams are being posted.
