Historian Capt L Panduranga Reddy (retired), a fellow of Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland wants the KBR Park to be renamed after the last Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan who is considered as architect of modern Hyderabad and ruled Hyderabad State between 1911 and 1948.    

Hyderabad: Historian Capt L Panduranga Reddy (retired), a fellow of Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland wants the KBR Park to be renamed after the last Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan who is considered as architect of modern Hyderabad and ruled Hyderabad State between 1911 and 1948.

He was speaking on the occasion of 132nd birth anniversary at Masjid E Jodi, near the palace where the Nizam VII is buried. Nawab Najaf Ali Khan grandson of Nizam VII, Saheba Zaheda Farhat Begum, granddaughter of Nizam VII, Dr Kolluri Chiranjeevi, MA Farooq Ahmed State founder TS MESA, D Naresh OU student leader were present on the occasion.

Pandu Ranga Rao also said that the government should declare holidays on the birthdays of Quli Qutub Shah, founder of Hyderabad and Nizam Osman Ali Khan, the last Nizam of Hyderabad. MA Farooq said that the Government should celebrate Nizam’s birthday and a statue of Mir Osman Ali Khan should be erected at a prominent place.
