Sangareddy: Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Sunday ordered the Municipal officials of Sangareddy and Sadashivapet Municipalities to concentrate on the increasing the income sources to the local bodies.

The Minister held a review meeting at Medak Collectorate on the progress of developmental works of both the municipalities at Sangareddy. He enquired the municipal DE about the details of works in progress and pending works taken up with the funds of 13th and 14th Finance Commission Funds and reasons for the delay in the works.

He urged the officials to prepare the proposals for the required developmental works and ordered that no sanctioned work should be put off and be done without compromising on quality. The Minister directed the Revenue Divisional official to identify the place for the construction of dump yard, SHE toilets and works under SC/ST sub plan within a week. The pending applications of LRS and BRS at Sangareddy municipality were also addressed by the minister.

Construction of toilets, plantation, payments of electricity bills, Mission Bhageeratha works, water supply and other projects in Sadashivpet Municipality were reviewed by the Irrigation Minister to which the Municipal Commissioner replied that the works of trench canals, mini tank bund were pending in the town. The Minister told the local body councilors and officials to take up the works useful to the public on the first priority and to increase the sources of income for the local bodies.

An amount of Rs 10crore will be sanctioned and the plans for the works should be made as soon as possible. The meeting was attended by ZP Chairperson Rajamani Muraliyadav, MP K Prabhakar Reddy Collector V Venkateshwarlu JC Nikhila, Local MLA C Prabhkar and Babu Mohan, RDO Srinivas Reddy, Revenue officials, Municipal Commissioners, Public Health officials, Irrigation officials and MEPMA Programme Director
Ambadas.
