Negligence of municipal workers in timely clearance of wastes from the neighbourhoods of Kakatiya Nagar in Neredmet had become a cause of regular concern for the residents and tradesmen in the area.

In a shocking incident, trash piles beside the main roads have been left unchecked making it inconvenient for people to walk. Sujatha, a resident said, "These are all contract employees of the municipality. They work according to their wish and will because they know that they are not accountable to anyone.
Although the municipal officials initially take stern action on the workers, slowly they again come back to their old practices. But we are the ultimate sufferers." Residents urge the municipal corporation to keep a check on the work being done by the workers.
