Repair works undertaken in a jiffy

After receiving a spurt of phone calls, the deputy commissioner Yadagiri and corporator Pavani Reddy visited the spot along with ground staff and saw to it that the problem was sorted.
Mahesh Nagar: In what can be termed as a first in this part of the city, the overflowing drains in Mahesh Nagar were repaired after residents raised an alarm here on Monday. After receiving a spurt of phone calls, the deputy commissioner Yadagiri and corporator Pavani Reddy visited the spot along with ground staff and saw to it that the problem was sorted.
The deputy commissioner instructed the officials to redraw a plan and prepare an estimate for the other pending works. Ramesh, a resident Mahesh Nagar said, “It came as a relief to see officials swing into action in such short notice.”
The localities in Kapra have been saddled with overflowing drains for years and the corporator said that each area is being undertaken on priority basis.
