On this occasion, TSRTC Chairman Somarapu Satyanarayana and Managing Director G V Ramana Rao paid rich tributes and praised the reforms done by Phule. They said that he was the first social philosopher and who fought against untouchability and was a pioneer in women education.
Musheerabad: The 192nd jayanti of Jyotirao Phule was celebrated on Wednesday in the Telangana National Mazdoor Union (TNMU) central office here. Addressing the members, State general secretary K Hanumanthu Mudiraj stated that Phule wanted everyone, particularly women, educated for leading a happy life.
Describing Phule as a great personality, he recalled how the social reformer got his wife educated for inspiring everyone to study. ‘It is people’s responsibility to ensure that Phule’s ideals are achieved. Among those present were TNMU State president T Sudhakar, vice-president K Premnath, joint secretaries Goli Ravinder, P Srinayya, treasurer P S S Rao, secretary R N Rao.
