Hyderabad: The State Gangireddula Welfare Association celebrated the Jayanti of Jyotirao Phule on a grand scale. Its members grabbed people’s attention by performing Gangireddu feats during the official celebrations organised in Ravindra Bharati on Wednesday.
Association president Jallela Narsimha urged the State to come to the rescue of nomadic tribes, as it was doing for BCs. He said there were not many chances in the city for the members’ families to sustain their livelihood. He alleged that no State government had bothered about the welfare of the community during the last 70 years.
Narsimha appealed to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to sanction house-sites and funds for improving the lot of Gangireddu community.
