Sangareddy: Joint Collector Nikhila asked the bankers in the district to cooperate for the smooth implementation of Rythu Bandhu Scheme – a financial aid to the farmers in two tranches by the state government which is conceived to free the debt-burdened farming sector in the state.
On Wednesday, during the review meeting held at his chamber at Collectorate in the town, the Joint Collector said to the bankers that District agricultural officials would get the cheques of Rs. 4000 per-acre from Hyderabad and distribute them to the farmers in the presence of Ministers, MLAs and other public representatives from April 20 across the state including in the district.
The JC clarified to the bankers that no banker should recover the balance of the cheques for the debts of the farmers when they deposit in the banks and should compulsory pay the amount in cash to the farmers. The bankers should maintain the sufficient cash in the banks to dispense the cash in healthy atmosphere without causing any difficulties to the farmers, advised the Joint Collector.
Lead Bank manager Laxmi Kantha Rao said the bankers must maintain wholesome relations with the farmers without causing any bad name to the government. Farmers can deposit the cheques in the banks at any time within the three months and to provide facilities like drinking water, tent and police protection be deployed at the banks, the manager sought the JC. The farmers should bring a photocopy of their Aadhaar card along with the original, he said at the meeting attended by representatives of various banks in the area.b
