Somajiguda: Chilkur Balaji Temple Archaka CS Rangarajan will be carrying a devout Scheduled Caste (SC) person on his shoulders into Lord Ranganathan Temple at Jiyaguda in a procession at 4 pm on April 16. Amid chantings of divine names, divine music and Annamayya’s famous song “Brahmomokkatey Parabrahmanokkatey” (which means all are equal before the lord) will be performed.

This is coinciding with the 1,000th year celebrations of Bhagavad Ramanuja who an Acharya propagating equality during the worship and surrender before the almighty.

Speaking during a press conference Archaka CS Rangarajan said that this ritual is aimed at sensitizing the people and help in stopping ill-treatment to person belonging to the downtrodden Hindu brethren belonging to SC/ST community. He said that it is a re-enactment of a 2,700 years-old incident which was done to re-establish the greatness of Sanatana Dharama and to propagate equality before the lord among all sections of the society.

Rangarajan also said “Even after we got a great constitution providing protection for the downtrodden, even after we have legislations for their protections they are still facing insults. The lord of lords has ordained us to re-enact this Munivahana event to sensitize the people.
