As part of Fire Service Week (FSW) from April 14 to 20, Telangana State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department on the second day showcased the cautions during the fire accidents at cinema theatres, railway stations, slum areas including the distribution of pamphlets and brochures under the limits of all the 6 fire stations in the district on Sunday.

Sangareddy: As part of Fire Service Week (FSW) from April 14 to 20, Telangana State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department on the second day showcased the cautions during the fire accidents at cinema theatres, railway stations, slum areas including the distribution of pamphlets and brochures under the limits of all the 6 fire stations in the district on Sunday.

The district’s fire department with its fire tenders and firefighters performed the fire fighting stunts at cinema theatres, Raliway stations and vegetable markets and slum areas in Narayankhed, Jaheeerabad and Patancheru and Sadashivpet mandals, said the District fire officer S Sridhar Reddy in a statement. Asst. District Fire Officer Sudarshan Reddy and other officials of fire stations participated in the program.

The Fire Service Week (FSW) is observed nation-wide under the guidance of the Fire Adviser, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India during April 14 - 20. This is in remembrance of the lives lost in the devastating fire that erupted and the explosions that followed on 14th April, 1944 at the Victoria Dock in the Bombay Port and also to prevent fire in all industries. The National Safety Council (NSC) has been promoting the FSW Campaign since 1999 with a view to propagate Fire Safety awareness amongst employees, their families and the public.
