Shaik Nayeem, relieves destitute from hunger pangs
It is a very common sight of finding less fortunate people begging on roads at crowded areas to just satisfy their hunger. They only earn mere bucks a day as only few people pay heed to them and shell out small amounts. But, it is humane when one having the ability to provide food on daily basis to those misfortunate people.

But, it is humane when one having the ability to provide food on daily basis to those misfortunate people.
After taking a deep dive into the lives of those people, the 31-year-old Shaik Nayeem, founder, Kriya Sangh Society, has gathered pace to offer free meals service at Rasoolpura basti, which came as a major relief to both orphans and old age people. This kind gesture of feeding the needy started on November 14, 2017. “It is horrible to witness people on the verge of dying due to lack of food. Along with abandoned children there are even old age people who starve for many days. Most of the senior citizens are left unattended and would be given leftover food at homes, which is sometimes a daunting task for them to eat it. There were even instances of daughter-in-law neglecting her diabetic-affected in-laws without giving food on time” said Nayeem.
After successfully completing 122 days of his initiation, he said that there is neither segregation nor discrimination, no caste or religious barriers to the dining room which fills the empty stomach of every individual suffering from hunger pains. Every day there are at least four to five people working for the cause and could see the number increasing steeply during weekends. Many college students and working professionals participate in this social cause.
Calculating the everyday expenditure that amounts to Rs 2000, he said that utmost 30 kgs of rice is needed to feed anywhere between 60 to 70 people. Speaking on funds generation, he said,” We do not encourage any political leaders to interfere and be a part of it. In the initial
days, M B Khan Trust has supported us and as the time passed, we have found few more individual donors like Azhar Maqsusi, who donates 15-16 kgs of rice every month. “However, I am delighted to spot more number of people working with us and donating money, who are the instrumental in taking the services to next level,” he shares.
