Members of the Osmania University Teachers’ Association (OUTA) on Wednesday staged dharna at the administrative block demanding contributory pension to those teachers appointed after September 2004.  Addressing the participants, president of the association  Prof Battu Satyanarayana stated that while all universities in the State were implementing CPS, OU was following LIC-linked.

Osmania University: Members of the Osmania University Teachers’ Association (OUTA) on Wednesday staged dharna at the administrative block demanding contributory pension to those teachers appointed after September 2004. Addressing the participants, president of the association Prof Battu Satyanarayana stated that while all universities in the State were implementing CPS, OU was following LIC-linked.

He claimed that none was able to say where the 8.3 per cent cut of a teacher’s salary was being deposited. The professor questioned as to why only OU was being discriminated against in the implementation of the pension policy. He warned to continue the agitation if the government fails to clarify its stand on the pension scheme. Among those who participated in the dharna were OUTA vice-president Prof B Lavanya, general secretary Prof. Manohar, Prof. Krishnayya, Dr. Deepla, Prof L K Rathor, Dr Ramesh.
