Afzalgunj: The bogey of lack of medicines has once again returned to Osmania General Hospital (OGH). Ramulu, a patient from Rajendranagar has been making the rounds for the last 25 days for clatrimazole cream as suggested by a doctor but it is not available. While the Medical and Health department officials deny any shortage of medicine, there are several combination of drugs that are required in certain treatment are always out of stock.

Devraj, a patient alleges that doctors ask patients to purchase medicines from outside and also specify which store to buy them from. “It is a clear indication that doctors and medical store owners are looting people,” adds Devraj. Even last year in the month of November, diagnostic equipment was in short supply leading to delay in treatment. Patients are routed to diagnostic centres and are put to great inconvenience said Rahmatullah, a social activist.
