Mini Tank Bund lies in neglect

Safilguda: The dream of Chief Minister to witness the proper maintenance of lake seems to go in vain. The popular Safilguda Lake called to be a Mini Tank Bund, is at its worst condition without having proper facilities to happy the visitor.

The lake which supposed to be a green cover offering pleasant environment for morning walkers and also the boating facility in the evening left unattended and had lost its past glory. The number of visitors entering the park now can be easily count on fingers.

The lake is covered up with chunk of garbage and a spread of plastic litter over the sprawling water with emanating unpleasant smell that is forcing the visitors to move out of the park. The washrooms are in pathetic condition without water facility and not being properly maintained. The eashrooms are not cleaned and it emanates unbearable smell.The park is mostly utilized by people of all ages who come for a walk.

After giving several representations to the management, the locals say that" the management had escaped from attending the problem with pointing their finger to GHMC and later the GHMC officials asked us to contact HMDA authorities to revive the lake from its bad condition. Ultimately, we have achieved nothing.

"With being distressed over the maintenance of the lake, the locals urged the government to immediately respond over the issue. They want the authorities to wipe away the litter in and around the lake and rejuvenate the lake with boating facilitY,"urged the laughing club members, K Raja Lakhsmi, Ravi Yadav, Venkatesh.
