NMDC is holding a National Seminar on “Responsible Mining in New Paradigm and Growth & Investment Opportunities for Mining and Steel in Mineral Rich States”. NMDC Limited, a Navratna PSE under Ministry of Steel in association with FICCI is organising this national seminar on April 24 and 25 at Raipur.

Hyderabad: NMDC is holding a National Seminar on “Responsible Mining in New Paradigm and Growth & Investment Opportunities for Mining and Steel in Mineral Rich States”. NMDC Limited, a Navratna PSE under Ministry of Steel in association with FICCI is organising this national seminar on April 24 and 25 at Raipur.

The seminar is aimed to address the challenges of Mining industry in present and future scenarios. All the officials from various Mining Industries, Government agencies and academicians from various organizations will attend the two day seminar. The seminar will include technical paper presentation by the experts of the subject through audio-visual presentations, case studies and experience sharing. Students of NIT, Raipur & Bilaspur Engineering College will also attend the seminar.

Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Minister of State for Steel, Govt. of India, Shri Amar Agrawal, Hon’ble Minister, Commerce & Industries, Commercial Tax and Urban Administration & Development, Govt. of Chhattisgarh, Shri N. Baijendra Kumar, IAS, CMD, NMDC; P K Satpathy, Director (Production) NMDC Ltd., Shri Tuhin Mukherjee, Managing Director, Essel Mining and Industries Limited and Chair FICCI Mining Committee are participating in the inaugural session.

Mahesh Gagda, Minister of Forests, Law and Legal Department, Govt. of Chhattisgarh, R K Singh, PCCF, Chhattisgarh, N K. Nanda, Director (Technical), NMDC;
D S Ahluwalia, Director (Finance), NMDC; Dr T R K Rao, Director (Commercial), NMDC; Sandeep Tula, Director (Personnel), NMDC; K Vidyasagar, Chief Vigilance Officer, NMDC and many other Senior Officials will also attend the seminar.

An industrial exhibition is also planned during this occasion which will provide all the participating organisations to showcase their Technology, Sustainable Mining Practices, CSR initiatives, etc., through models, posters and audio-visuals.

This seminar will help the Personnel of Mining industry in knowledge sharing, which is being participated by Government agencies, academia, Statutory Bodies. The National Seminar is a part of various programmes being organized by NMDC during its Diamond Jubilee year, the history and growth of NMDC has been inextricably linked to the progress and development of the surrounding areas and its contribution to the nation as a whole. Apart from being the single largest iron ore producer in the country, NMDC is also into steel making with its maiden project of 3 million tonnes per annum Steel Plant at Nagarnar, Chhattisgarh which is scheduled for commissioning by the end of the year.
