Vikarabad: Even as the murder of a beautician is still green in the people’s memory, a TRS activist was clubbed to death at Mylaram village on Sunday. Old rivalry is stated to be the cause of the murder. Land dispute is stated to be the cause of death. The diseased was identified as Pendyala Srinivas. He had land disputes with some in the village. The deceased was survived by wife and two draughts. He is an active member of the TRS.

For fear of attack on his life, Srinivas has been taking shelter in the town for quite some time. But, he went to the village on Sunday as he had some urgent work. Taking advantage of his loneliness, his rivals were reported to have attacked him with sticks and stones. Later, the offenders surrendered to the police at Tharur.

The body was sent to Government hospital at Vikarabad for post-mortem. Local legislator Sanjiva Rao consoled the bereaved family members. A visually disturbed wife of the slain Srinivas entered into an argument with the local DSP demanding immediate punishment to the guilty.
