Telangana State Election Commission on Friday released the schedule  for the preparation and publication of Gram Panchayat Electoral Rolls. The EC, under the Sections of 10 and 11 of Telangana Panchayat Raj Act, 2018, directed all the District Panchayat Officers in the state to prepare and publish the photo electoral rolls of all Gram Panchayats  on May 17.

Siddipet: Telangana State Election Commission on Friday released the schedule for the preparation and publication of Gram Panchayat Electoral Rolls. The EC, under the Sections of 10 and 11 of Telangana Panchayat Raj Act, 2018, directed all the District Panchayat Officers in the state to prepare and publish the photo electoral rolls of all Gram Panchayats on May 17.

The order of the EC stated that the preparation of Draft Photo Electoral Roll for Gram Panchayats duly indicating the Ward Division and display at Gram Panchayat and Mandal Praja Parishad Office on April 30, meeting with representatives of political parties at district level by the District Election Authoritties on May 01 and at mandal level meeting by concened MPDOs on May 03.

The receipt of objections of any on re-arrangement of rural Assembly voters in to Ward and Gram Panchayat Electoral Rolls will be from May 01 to 08, the disposal of objections will be done by May 10 and the final publication of Electoral Rolls of Gram Panchayats duly indicating Ward Division by the DPO will be o May 17.

After the publication of Gram Panchayat Photo Electoral Rolls as specified above i.e., on 17.05.2018, any inclusions, deletions or corrections if any ordered in the Assembly Electoral Rolls by the Electoral Registration Officer of the AssembIy Constituency concerned under continuous updation from March 23, 2018 to upto the date of Election Notification Under Section 11(1) of Telangana Panchayat Raj Act, 2018, shall be obtained by the District Panchayat Officers from the EROs concerned and shall be carried out in the concerned wards of the Gram Panchayat electoral rolls, said the order.
