District Superintendent of Police Annapurna visited the village which is in the grip of tension. On account of land disputes there was bad blood between Srinivas and five others who hatched a conspiracy to eliminate Srinivas. Fearing threat to his life, Srinivas has been taking shelter in Vikarabad. But, on Sunday he had to set out for the village as he had some work to get done there.

His rivals took the chance and attacked him with sticks and stones putting him to death on the spot. Later, they surrendered to Tharur police.
