Deepa Saxena, daughter of a Basheerabad-based doctor Ram Pasad, came runner up in the Mrs. India Telangana pageant held at Hotel the Park in Hyderabad on Monday. 

Tandur: Deepa Saxena, daughter of a Basheerabad-based doctor Ram Pasad, came runner up in the Mrs. India Telangana pageant held at Hotel the Park in Hyderabad on Monday.

An elated Deepa Saxena said that she grabbing the second position automatically made her eligible to run for the national event. She attributed her success to the encouragement that she had received from her husband DJ Amit Saxena, parents Dr Ramprasad and Sarojadevi, and other family members. Deepa believes “Attitude is everything” and “Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself”. She kick started her HR career 10 years ago.

An avid movie lover, a fitness enthusiast, a voracious fiction reader, a favorite with children, she loves to pencil sketch and paint as well. In recent years, Deepa blind-folded the deadly cancer twice and in her fight for recovery, has been a source of inspiration to friends, family and acquaintances. Her prodigious and self reflecting journey with cancer has been captured in a book called Enduring Cancer” and an Indian TV series called “Miracles Happen”. She aspires to help people suffering with cancer in any which way she can.
