Secunderabad: The first Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge, Nampally, convicted the accused Kotiboina Sunil for sexually assaulting a minor boy, here on Wednesday. The judge sentenced the convict to undergo rigorous imprisonment for three years and ordered to pay fine of Rs 5,000 in default of payment of fine amount, further undergo simple imprisonment for two months for the offence under section eight of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act-2012 (POCSO).

The complainant is a minor and a student of class 10, who was taking tuition classes from the accused. When the victim was in class eight, the accused started misbehaving and asked unusual questions and used to undress him and touch his private parts. “The accused sexually assaulted the victim on July 17, 2016 at 5:30 pm when he went to the house of accused for tuition. The court passed that prosecution was able to establish the guilt of the accused for the offence committed under section eight of POCSO and passed the judgment,” said M Mattaiah, Inspector of Police, PS Market.
