Hyderabad: Water board officials clarified that fine of threefold billing will be levied on the consumers who resort to evade submitting Occupancy Certificates (OC) for the plot area exceeding 100 sq meters.

There have been certain misconceptions among the customers that Board has been rejecting water connection approvals on the pretext of non-submission of OC. The misgiving is baseless; the Board is sanctioning connection to every eligible applicant with normal connection charges regardless whether OC is submitted or not; but only levying 3 times of the regular monthly water cess if the OC is not submitted by the consumer. Further, HMWSSB is also reverting the bill to single time on submission of occupancy certificate by the consumer from the date of issue of OC.

Hence, HMWSSB requests the applicants for new connections and also the existing consumers who are having plot area of more than 100 sq meters to submit the Occupancy Certificate issued by the GHMC to avail water supply at single time billing.
