Kondapur: The State Forest department’s Pala Pitta cycling park in Kondapur is attracting a large number of people this summer. Citizens residing in and around Kondapur are making a bee line to the park in the mornings and evenings. On an average about 80 to 100 persons are visiting the park in the mornings and the number goes up in the evenings.

The park is open to cyclists from 6-9 a.m and 4-6 p.m. Balaram, a regular to the park, says, “The place is well maintained and is good for beginners. It is a great place to start learning to cycle.” Echoing a similar sentiment is Shekar, he says, “There is a water body, enough greenery and one can also find peacocks here. Many families come here not just to cycle but also to soak in the ambience.”

An official of the Forest department said, “This is a lung space that people in the region have been looking for. We are planning to include more services and amenities and in days to come, the park is going to become a hub of sorts for cyclists.”

Ram, a Grade 9 student said, “I love cycling and this place is a boon as the rate for an hour is just Rs 25. Five friends are planning to come for the whole of May.” There are toddler seats attached to the cycles, then there is a couple cycle too (although it is difficult to ride but yet they are available) said a worker. Cycles with gear and without gear too are available. “It is a perfect place for nature lovers or people who want to be stress-free and breathe some fresh air. It is first of its kind in this part of Hyderabad,” said Dhanush Naidu speaking to Hans India.
