Bharat Nagar: A free medical camp was held at Bharat Nagar here on Friday. The camp was organised by Good Morning Walkers’ Association between 10 a.m to 1 p.m in which about 70 persons from nearby areas were benefitted. President P Nagi Reddy of Good Morning Walkers’ Association said, “The camp was organised so that the poor who cannot afford to go to corporate hospitals could avail the facility.”

A doctor from a private hospital willingly participated in the camp and offered his services. Apart from general check up, many persons were diagnosed with high blood pressure. The doctor advised people about healthy food. Manohar, a resident of Bharat Nagar, a auto driver said, “I came to know that i am a borderline case of diabetics and now i will change my food habits.”

The medical camp was an eye-opener to many, especially the uneducated. Lakshmi, a vegetable vendor said, “I did not know that a family of four could survive by consuming two packets of oil. We consume five packets of oil per month.” Patients would receive the test reports soon, informed the organiser.
