Residents angry over delay in drainage works
Corporator D Venkatesh Goud inspected the underground drainage works at Subhash Chandra Bose Nagar after several complaints from locals reached him in the past fortnight. The works were being undertaken at a cost of Rs 8.5 lakh.

Locals complain that though the works started, it is moving at snail’s pace. The contractor is never seen and when the locals enquire, the field level workers do not share the contact details of the contractor.
Venkatesh Goud instructed the contractor to complete the work and also adhere to quality standards. Laxman, a local said that the project is long overdue and should have been completed long time ago. He further added, “With the monsoon just a few weeks away, the work if not completed before the onset of monsoon could cause inconvenience to people.”
