Mistakes by Revenue staff in RBS come to light
Since the commencement of the Rythu Bandhu Scheme (RBS) mistakes committed by the Revenue staff, who identified over six lakh acres of cultivable land in the district and prepared reports that Rs.234 crore investment is required to be paid to 2.24 lakh farmers,are getting exposed.Â
Vikarabad: Since the commencement of the Rythu Bandhu Scheme (RBS) mistakes committed by the Revenue staff, who identified over six lakh acres of cultivable land in the district and prepared reports that Rs.234 crore investment is required to be paid to 2.24 lakh farmers,are getting exposed.
A look at the passbooks show some farmers not having lands, reducing the land area because of which the cheque amount gets reduced. While some are shown as owning less land, in the case of others smaller amounts have been received. When surveys showed 10 acres less land area was shown and a cheque for Rs.10,000 given, instead of Rs.40,000. Because of such mistakes ryots have to face hardships.
At the RBS programme in Kodangal ZP Girls High School farmers who waited till the evening did not receive the cheques. Besides, their land area was not entered in the passbooks, causing deep anxiety to them. About 30 ryots of some villages are getting for an agitation. They have threatened to lay siege to the tahsildar’s office on Tuesday if details of their lands are not recorded.
When questioned, theRevenue staff, while admitting the mistake, promise to correct by re-printing them while taking the books back. Because of such mistakes the investment assistance to farmers is getting delayed. In the case of some ryots thestaff after noticing the mistakes stopped distribution of passbooks/cheques to famers.
Officials have been informing farmers to correct the mistakes in the passbooks by bringing them to the notice of the Revenue department before accepting them at gram sabhas. The Revenue staff at the spot is supposed to immediately correct the errors.
