Musheerabad: Water Works Department’s apathy towards completion of pipeline works worth Rs 96 lakh between Fish Market and Ramnagar junction is causing severe inconvenience to local residents.

HIGHLIGHTS:

• Residents have to bring drinking water from outside
• The dug-up road in front of the houses causing severe inconvenience
• Residents are worried as monsoon is at the doorstep

The residents are not in a position to come out of their houses because of the digging of the road in front of their houses.Municipal Administration Minister K Taraka Rama Rao along with Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, MP Bandaru Dattatreya and MLA Laxman six months back had laid foundation to 760-mt long Sivaraj pipeline.

But the Water Works Department started works five months after the foundation and now the work is moving at a snail’s pace.Local resident Ramesh lamented that they were going to other’s house to get drinking water. He requested the authorities to complete the works at the earliest.

The locals also feared about the fast approaching of monsoon.When asked about the same, Narayanguda Water Works GM Damodar Reddy said that because of the heavy stones the work got delayed. The GM assured completion of work in 20 to 30 days.
