Hyderabad: A seminar on good governance for trainee officers was conducted at Marri Chenna Reddy Human Resource Development (MCR HRD) Institute at Jubilee Hills on Friday. Veterans addressed trainee officers of 2017 batch, Group-I officers of government of Telangana, SO’s and ASO’s of central secretariat, and Junior Assistants.by delivering speeches on the contemporary methods of work for good governance.

Secretary of Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions (DoPT), Dr C Chandramouli spoke about the contemporary world of work, characterised by an alert social and electronic media, easy access to information under Right to Information (RTI) Act, extensive use of Information & Communication Technology. He called upon the officers to keep their skill sets current and up-to-date, learn on a continuous basis, develop readiness to work 24x7, and deliver efficient services to people in a time-bound fashion. “Need for developing empathy on the part of the officers to understand the problems of people is the need of the hour”, he said.

Chief Secretary & Director General of MCR HRD Institute B P Acharya, said, “While training is imparted to employees at the higher levels in an ample measure, the need for training for their counterparts at lower levels, whose numbers are mind-boggling, does not receive the importance that it richly deserves. He stated that commit e-Learning program, is of great help in imparting training to a larger chunk of employees at lower levels not only in a short period of time but also at a relatively lower cost.”

As a part of the celebrations of the success of the commit e-Learning program, Dr Chandramouli gave away certificates to 93 trainee ASOs of Central Secretariat, government of India and 46 trainee Junior Assistants, who successfully completed the e-Learning program. He also launched the Telugu version of the modules of commit e-Learning program. Thereafter Dr Chandramouli inaugurated Roof Top Solar Power Unit (705 KWP), in the presence of BP Acharya, installed on Godavari Block at a cost of Rs3crore, it is one of the ongoing endeavors to convert the Institute in to an eco-friendly green entity.
