Kishan calls for timely distribution of KL & SM cheques

Himayatnagar: Local MLA G Kishan Reddy (BJP) on Monday called for timely distribution of the Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak cheques to eligible couples. Speaking at local tahsildar’s office where the Kalyana Lakshmi cheques were distributed, the BJP floor leader suggested that the KL cheques should be given on the basis of a letter issued by either the concerned temple of caste organisation, as was being done in the cases of Shadi Mubarak scheme.

‘These cheques should be handed over on the day of marriage’, Reddy stressed. He pointed out that people were looking forward to the cheques as the parents had already taken loans. ‘The amount being given was sufficient only for paying interest’. The BJP leader advised the revenue staff to expedite enquiries for issue of various certificates. After the programme, he expressed ire at officials why they were negligent in discharging duty after some beneficiaries complained to him about delay of months in the release of widow and asara pensions because of which they had to repeatedly visit the tahsildar’s office.
