Kuchipudi dance enthralls participants from all religions
People from different social and religious groups attended the Eid Milap programme organised by the Telangana NRIs Welfare Association on Friday. The event was held at Urdu Maskan Auditorium near Chowmohalla Palace.
Hyderabad: People from different social and religious groups attended the Eid Milap programme organised by the Telangana NRIs Welfare Association on Friday. The event was held at Urdu Maskan Auditorium near Chowmohalla Palace. A colourful cultural programme was also held at the Eid Milap. For the first time a Kuchipudi dance performance was rendered, which was very unique for an Eid Milap programme.
Ifteqar Shareef, first overseas citizen of India, was the chief guest in this programme. Fruit mixing was also carried out at the event by the members of Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian communities. Ifteqar said that unity in diversity was the strength of the country. He said that NRIs cherish the memories of their home country in abroad and treat everyone as their brother or sister. He said that it was heartening to see people of different cultures, languages, religions together at Eid Milap. He advised that all need to find ways to unite time and again.
He said that politics must not divide us and unity in diversity was the only way forward for Indians. Participants greeted each other and vowed to remain united in every aspect of life. Singers from across the country and other countries presented patriotic songs on this occasion and enthralled the audience.
