According to Traffic CI Narasimha Rao, who conducted a special drive along with SI Sathyanarayana and other personnel on Thursday in the town, six motorists were breathalised and caught drunk while driving during DUI test and were awarded jail by the Gajwel Magistrate Ravindar Sathu after the hearing.
Among the six, Lavori Nadu of Nagaram, Durga Singh of Gopalpura (Madhya Pradesh) were jailed for 3 days, Anthani Srisailam of Varadarajapuram village, G Yella Goud of Nemtur village, P Rukmadri of Bangla Venkatapur and P Madari were jailed for one day. Four more motorists were fined of Rs 1000 each. The traffic CI, who took out a rally with the traffic violators, warned the motorists of imprisonment if they resort to drive the vehicles while they are drunk.
