Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar asks GHMC officials to complete works by Oct-end

GHMC Commissioner Janardhan Reddy takes up green challenge of planting three trees and names three officers to continue the challenge

• The Principal Secretary says there should not be any compromise in quality
• Laying of asphalt roads and re-carpeting works should be done after monsoon
• Tendering and awarding processes should be done during monsoon

Khairatabad: Arvind Kumar, Principal Secretary to Government of Telangana advised GHMC engineers to finish the undertaken works at the earliest at zonal office Khairatabad on Tuesday.

Arvind advised engineers to ensure all the preventive and periodical maintenance works related to construction of footpath, road widening and laying of cement concrete CC roads should be completed with no compromise in quality.

Arvind said “All the works should be completed by the end of October. While laying of asphalt roads and re-carpeting should be done after monsoon, the process of calling tenders and issuing of letter of award should be completed during the monsoon period.”

Arvind advised engineers to conduct a meeting with the ward members and the members of resident welfare association to have a quick feedback to find out whether any work relating to emergency restoration work was missing from the list identified by the officials.

All the works identified by the officials and also the works relating to repairs and patch works suggested by the resident welfare associations should be taken up immediately.

The pictures of the works before and after completion of the work should be posted on twitter. He observed that the social media should be used as a tool to highlight the positive works done by the engineers.

He told the deputy engineers to work closely with the people so that all their genuine grievances are addressed.

GHMC Commissioner Janardhan Reddy, Additional Commissioner Bharati Holikeri and Chief Engineer Ziauddin attended the meeting.
