Priya Park in Gudimalkapur turns garbage dump

Gudimalkapur: The residents of Gudimalkapur are a harried lot.

The open space inside as well as outside the Priya Park is being used as a dumping yard by the residents and people from nearby colonies.

Anjali Narasimham, a resident of Gudimalkapur, Mehdipatnam said, “countless attempts to reach out to officials of the sanitation wing of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation were made but in vain.”
She went on to add, “Our colony members throw all kinds of waste including wet, dry and even livestock at Priya Colony Park which is quite opposite my home. The smell is unbearable.”

Recently, a dustbin caught fire due to an explosion in an electric transformer but the authorities did not install a dustbin.

Anjali said, “we have a decent house but feel ashamed to have garbage strewn all over the road and opposite our house.

It is one landmark that no one is proud of,” she said.
