Illegal construction thrives in Tandur
Illegal construction of shopping complexes and houses, without obtaining permission from municipal authorities, is going on unchecked in the town depriving the civic body of its revenue
Tandur: Illegal construction of shopping complexes and houses, without obtaining permission from municipal authorities, is going on unchecked in the town depriving the civic body of its revenue.
The electricity department officials have been emerging such structures violating the rules. Rules indicate that the houses should have valid permission for the authorities to issue electricity connection. The electricity connection is being secured by managing the officials.
Illegal construction activity is going on under Survey No.3 limits. The local residents have been expressing ire at the officials flouting rules and issuing electricity meters while the officials cite several rules to issue meters to the poor.
When contacted, municipal commissioner Bogeswarlu told The Hans India that there were no permissions given for the construction activity under Survey No. 3. The illegal structures would be pulled down if construction activity goes on. Municipal councilor Arvind Kumar complained regarding the same to officials several times but in vein.
