In what was a rare sight after many years, Tollywood superstars Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna and Venkatesh were under one roof on Tuesday evening in Hyderabad as they participated in a press brief explaining about the menu of ‘Memu Saitham’, the telethon event that the industry has come up to raise funds for Hudhud cyclone-hit. To be held on November 30 in the capital of the two states, the telethon event, according to Chiranjeevi, is designed in a way that everyone, big or small, can contribute to the best of their abilities.
The actor-turned-politician, who earlier visited the steel city on Wednesday, said that the green cover has started to take form, but it should get help from all quarters to regain its lost glory. “Government has estimated loss to the tune of 70,000 crore.
Film industry has been at the forefront when it comes to doing their bit whenever such natural calamities take place and we’ve proved it once again as a good number of stars and other film personalities donated a large sum to CM Relief Fund. ‘Memu Saitham’ will be another window for people to donate,” he said.
He added though some stars are out of town meeting their film schedules, everybody will be gracing the November 30 event.
Though the key event is on Nov 30, ‘Memu Saitham’ will kick off on November 29 with the programme ‘Dine With The Stars’. In what is a once in a life time opportunity, people who never met stars till now can now dream of dining with them by purchasing a donor pass, which is pegged at Rs 1 lakh.
The pass can be availed by two individuals. Besides dance performances, Kabaddi match and Tambola with stars, November 30 event will also witness noted faces like Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, NTR, Ram Charan, Anushka, Charmee, Akhil Akkineni and Rakul Preet Singh among others battling it out in a 6-over cricket match at Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy In-door stadium. Interested people can get hold of the Rs 3,000 ticket on BookMyShow.
Reticent stars Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu will also be participating in the event with full gusto. Trivikram Srinivas, who is close to both the stars, has designed special talk shows for the duo to partake.
The proceeds from the event will go to AP CM Relief Fund. AP CM Chandrababu Naidu will make it to the do as it culminates.
