Officers and employees of Andhra Bank at MG Road are continuing their endeavour to recover dues from defaulters by conducting recovery drives. The staff on Monday protested in front of a defaulter’s home in Firozguda with placards and banners. S Venkata Nagaraju, assistant general secretary, Andhra Bank Award Staff Employees Union, Secunderabad zone, said, “Mekala Mohan and Oruganti Prasad availed a loan of Rs 1.26 crore in the name of Sangameshwara Packaging Industries located at Ferozguda in Balanagar and defaulted to pay monthly installments, in spite of the follow up and timely notices served by the bank. The account has become a non-performing asset (NPA). We are targeting more such high value defaulters and plan to reduce the level of NPAs at our branch by the end of the financial year.” Chief manager Rudra Venkateswar Rai, senior manager Ramakrishan and 30 branch staff members and recovery officers took part in the protest.
