Speaking on the occasion, the MP stated that her dream came true with the opening of PSK. She thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj for sanctioning PSK to Kurnool.

Renuka said it is convenient for people of the district to get passport with the opening of PSK here. She expressed happiness as the PSK was inaugurated on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami. The MP explained that PSK can process 100 applications per day once it becomes fully operational. She assured of setting up Provident Fund office at Kurnool by holding talks with the Union Labour Minister.

Director of Postal Services V Santana Raman recalling his childhood days said it was hard to get a passport photograph within a week, now, one can get a passport within the same period. Regional Passport Officer NLP Chowdary said that arrangements have been made to issue 100 passports per day.

He urged the BSNL to provide dedicated lines to PSK for providing prompt services to people. Superintendent of Posts KV Subba Rao said around 1.45 lakh new accounts have been opened during a big mela held at Kosigi. Employment registration service also started at the post office premises with the coordination of Labour Ministry, he added.

The Postal department employees have felicitated the MP with a shawl and a memento. Butta also felicitated the Regional Passport Officer, Director of Postal Services and Superintendent of Posts on the occasion. Additional SP Shaik Sha Vali and other officials were present.
