A German hacking group, The Chaos Computer Club, says that they are offering honorary membership to NSA leaker, Edward Snowden, and Chelsea Manning, a soldier from US who has been convicted of providing classified documents to WikiLeaks.

The group which describes itself as “Europe’s largest association of hackers”, says its members voted largely in favour of the move on Sunday. Spokeswoman, Constanze Kurz, said on Monday that the members of the group also pledged to financially support Snowden’s efforts to avoid extradition to the US.

Snowden is currently in Russia and has been charged with espionage and other offenses that could get him 20 years in prison if found guilty. Manning is serving a 35 year prisoner sentence, for giving WikiLeaks more than 700,000 secret military and US State Department documents.
