At least four people were killed and 10 others injured as an improvised explosives device (IED) blast hit a passenger train in Dasht area of Balochistan's Mastung district.

The bomb was denoted near a stretch of railway track while Quetta-Rawalpindi Jaffar Express was passing, the Dawn reported.

Frontier Corps and Levies personnel have reached the spot and cordoned off the area.

The blast damaged a bogey of the train and small portion of the track, a police officer said.

The injured people are being treated in Bolan Medical Complex Hospital and Civil Hospital Quetta.

This is the second attack on Rawalpindi bound Jaffar Express, as it sustained minor damage in a bomb blast in January this year.
