An explosion was reported on a road near the airport in the Afghan capital on Monday and casualties were feared, officials in Kabul said.
Police and emergency services were at the scene.
According to Khaama Press, Sediq Sediq, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior (MoI), confirmed that the blast took place after a vehicle packed with explosives was detonated by a suicide bomber in Hawa Shinasi area in the eastern part of Hamid Karzai airport.
