Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of Income Tax Appellate Tribunal

The "Income Tax Appellate Tribunal" is celebrating its "Platinum Jubilee" at Convention Hall, The Ashok, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi on 24th & 25th January, 2016.President Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Chief Justice Shri T.S. Thakur, Union Minister of Finance, Corporate Affairs and Information & Broadcasting Shri Arun Jaitley, Union Minister of Law & Justice Shri D.V. Sadananda Gowda and Union Minister for Communications & Information Technology Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad would be participating in the celebrations, informed Income Tax Appellate Tribunal, Hyderabad Judicial Member Smt. P. Madhavi Devi here on Tuesday.

The first technical session on "Developing Tax Jurisprudence in Cross border Transactions-Challenges and Opportunities" would be chaired by Mr. Justice Dipak Misra, Judge, Supreme Court of India, Shri Harish Salve, senior advocate and Mr. Anita Kapur, Adviser on Tax Reforms would be the speakers. The second technical session would be chaired by Mr. Justice Adarsh Kumar goel, Judge, Supreme Court of Inida. Mr.Justice Badar Durrez Kumar Ahmed, Judge, High Court of Delhi and Mr. Justice (Rtd) R.V.Easwar would be presenting papers on the topic "Emergence of Technology in Justice Delivery System- A way forward".

The third technical session would be on topic "Tax Litigation viz-a-viz Ease of Doing Business in India". The session will be chaired by Shri by Shri P.K. Malhotra, Law Secretary and the speakers would be Shri A.K. Jain, Chairman, CBDT and Shri Manoj Fadnis, President, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. The Chief Guest at the Valedictory session would be Shri Arun Jaitley, Hon'ble Union Minister of Finance, Corporate Affairs and Information & Broadcasting.
