In an interview to the Press Trust of India, President Obama said: "Pakistan can and must take more effective action against terrorist groups that operate from its territory."
He also appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaching out to Pakistan counterpart Nawaz Sharif after the Pathankot terror attack on January 2. India has alleged that the attack was carried out by the Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed.
