Women are not allowed to enter into Saudi Arabia Starbucks. They are instead told to send their drivers to order for them.

One can read on this Starbucks front side:'PLEASE NO ENTRY FOR LADIES ONLY SEND YOUR DRIVER TO ORDER. THANK YOU.’ Customers started then twitting pictures of the sign.

It was the country's influential religious police who ordered the cafe's management not to allow women in, after an inspection found out that the segregation wall, which segregates men and families, was missing.

However, Starbucks claims it is refusing entry to women because the wall has been temporarily removed for renovation purpose.

A Starbucks spokeperson said:

‘Starbucks in Saudi Arabia adheres to the local customs by providing separate entrances for families as well as single people.

‘All our stores provide equal amenities, service, menu, and seating to men, women and families.'

‘We are working as quickly as possible as we refurbish our Jarir store, so that we may again welcome all customers in accordance with local customs.’

As a consequence, this ban generated tons of angry reactions along with call for general boycott on the social media, and thus helped to further expand this discriminatory action.
