Islamabad [Pakistan]: Pakistan is planning to initiate a case against its former ambassador to the United States Hussain Haqqani for misusing funds.
According to the Dawn, Pakistan's Additional Attorney General Muhammad Waqar Rana informed the Supreme Court that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is looking its options to register an FIR against the former diplomat and needed a week's time.
Earlier this month, FIA contacted Interpol to issue an arrest warrant against Haqqani after he failed to appear in a court in connection with the Memogate case.
On February 15, Pakistan Supreme Court had issued an arrest warrant against Haqqani.
The Supreme Court had also taken up the suo motu case in order to ensure the implementation of the order to bring Haqqani back to Pakistan.
