STOCKHOLM: On Tuesday, two men stole priceless jewels of the Swedish crown dating back to the early 1600s. Police said that they have escaped on a speedboat.

They vanished somewhere around in the lakes 60km away from Stockholm. King Karl IXs and Queen Christina’s gold crown and an orb was stolen. The crown was made up of gold with crystals and pearls.

In Cathedral they were displayed in an exhibition. Then the alarm went off with the visitors still inside it. The robbers smashed the glass and stole the artefacts. The police believe that they might have escaped with the help of jet skis.

Police believe that the stolen items would not give the burglars any kind of financial help as they were considered as “national treasure” and “impossible to sell”. Interpol is investigating this case with international searches.
