Khammam: Mocking the Centre’s move of ban on high-value currency notes and subsequent cash crunch at banks and ATMs, the District Convenor of the Congress party Minority unit, M D Fazal, paid tributes to the defunct ATM centres here in Khammam on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Fazal said many people across the country were suffering severely with the ban on high-value currency notes. “Government had taken such a big decision without making prior arrangements to tackle the issues that arise after its implementation.

With many ATM centres across the district not working, people are facing severe problems even after a month of ban,” he said
With ATMs running dry on cash, common people were forced to stand in serpentine queues in front of the banks braving heat and cold.

“They are facing severe problems in purchasing daily commodities due to non-availability of change and are unable to pay their house rents,” Fazal said, further demanding the State and Central governments to make proper arrangements by making available the required money in ATM centres to solve people’s problems.

Congress party Minority unit leaders Zaheer and Sarwar Pasha, SC unit leaders Nagabhushanam, Sammaiah, ST unit leaders D Venkat Rao and Peter were present along with others.
